About 4 months ago I decided to start working from home!  If you know me, then you probably have mixed feelings about this move.  Bottom line… I am a SOCIAL person!  “Are you going to be ok working alone all day?” “Will you not miss you friends at the office?”  “How will you stay busy?”  The inquiries went on and on from various people.  I had my doubts as well, still do!!  But there are a lot of advantages of working from home!  For example today I drove to the bank wearing no bra, my ratty old boxer shorts, and a tank top.  Good news..they don’t really care what you look like as long as you are bringing them some money!!  For those of you who have known me for years this is a huge step out for me!  I was THAT girl in college that NEVER wore PJs to class! I am always DRESSED 🙂  Not today…ha!

Another tip I have learned being “home” for these past few months…you are never home!  And when I am home, I have the sweetest, laziest, fury assistants, that provide a comforting back ground noise (honkay)!  Exhibit A…looking OH so innocent in her “I didn’t do it!”  tee!!

I have been able to travel, to catch up on the book I have been meaning to read, to lunch, to think, to be creative, to process, to clean, to work on my yard (constant work in progress), to spend more time with my family, to learn self discipline, to budget, to organize, on and on!  I think the most important thing I have taken away from this whole transformation process…is to take time and be more compassionate.  I no longer have road rage!  I arrive early (or I am making a conscious effort)!  I appreciate the conversations I have with the Post Office ladies (shout out to Park Rd Post office, maybe the busiest post office I have ever seen!)  The hustle and bustle of a corporate job, with a part time job, and a full time life, did not leave much space for taking time.  So now I am going to take time to “BLOG”!  As my sister just said this weekend, “You know so-as-so is blogging now, and so is her and her and her.  My response was…do you think we are missing something??  I think I am.  So this will be my sounding board…my thought board..and my continual networking board!!

I have been challenged constantly by some amazing women in my life to start a networking group.   As one of my favorite past times, networking has become a vital portion of my future success!  So with the help of some lovely friends, Queen Bees of Charlotte is in it infancy!  A few of us are going to meet tonight to get the platform set..the calendar organized..and the mind stimulated.  I am constantly amazed by the women in my life and I truly believe the we can all live by this moto!

To conclude my first post..I just want to say that I have never been happier to not be wearing a bra, and I am excited for the what the future has in store for me and for my friends!!
