I stopped running. After 18 years I had to stop running. I always thought it would be my knees that betrayed me, but alas it was my feet. I was told by the doctors to stop. And after 18 years of constant running that was hard to hear. But I was also a bit burned out so the rest did me some good other than healing the joints in my feet!

After a few months break I started walking and while I was burning calories and getting some great outdoor time in our beautiful cemetery, I knew it wasn’t going to cut it long term.

Enter Camp Gladiator! Ironically one of my AirBnBers was here to promote and grow the Camp Gladiator program. And you know when you have one of those this is too good to be true moments…well that is how I felt when she started telling me about the program.

So I thought why not, this is a sign, there are no more excuses! I am proud to say I have 2 weeks and 6 check ins completed and I am half way to my small goal of making it consistently for a month. 12 check ins on 30 days. This program is FUN first and hard work second. It is also always held outside. You get a trainer and they work with you on your goals. They also hold you accountable which is a huge win for me! Classes are held all over the city!

Just an example of the fun first strategy, last Friday we had Frat Star Friday and in between our reps we played “water pong” and flip cup! It was super fun to compete for a silly college game but also work really hard on our core and back.

This blog is not endorsed by Camp Gladiator but I felt like I would be remissed to not share this with you! If you want to get out of the stinky gym, get some fresh air and get a great work out I would love to have you join me! The more people I have holding me accountable the better and also it is just FUN and it has been a long time since I have thought that about working out! Just let me know and we can make it happen!
